At our Kansas City Self Defense Studio, we teach the Shaolin Kempo martial arts style to students of every age, gender and skill level. This style is based on an ancient method of self-defense taught in a safe, fun and family-friendly environment. The Shaolin style combines the Five Animals of Shaolin Kung Fu (Shaolinquan), the core competency of Kempo, the hard-hitting explosiveness of traditional Karate, as well as the power of Western boxing and the felling and grappling arts of Jiu JitsuChin Na and Mongolian wrestling. This hybrid style combines the four ways of fighting: striking, kicking, felling and grappling to eliminate the inherent weakness of martial arts styles that only focus on one or two techniques.

We start kids from age 3, and adults of all ages can participate.

Participating in martial arts together is a great family activity. We specialize in providing private training to small groups of up to four students. Our private classes offer a great opportunity for families to train and practice together, which is always encouraged. We also offer group classes for children and adults.
