Tournament Registration Fee

I, the undersigned, of the above address, as a registrant and participant in the annual Aplomb Martial Arts Spring Tournament to be held on May 16, 2026, voluntarily submit my application to attend and participate. I fully recognize and acknowledge that this competition frequently involves physical contact that might result in injury to myself or others, despite the necessary safety precautions and rules, and I enter such competition at my own risk. Therefore, I assume full and complete responsibility for any and all damages, injuries, or losses that I, my family or my property may sustain or incur, if any, while attending or participating in this competition.

I understand and agree that the organizers of this tournament, AMA, its owners, investors, instructors, volunteers, officials or other competitors, will not be responsible for my safety, nor will any of these parties or individuals serve as a guardian for my safety.

I do hereby release and further discharge the organizers of this tournament, AMA, it’s owners, investors, instructors, volunteers, officials or other competitors, individually and/or otherwise, for any accidents, suits, damages, claims, or judgements that may result in any personal injury that I may sustain while participating in this competition. Furthermore, the aforementioned may not be held in any way responsible for any occurrences which may result in injury, death, or damages to me, my family, descendants, heirs, assigns, or property.

I realize and acknowledge that I am solely responsible for any medical attention or treatment that I may need as a result of participating in this competition.

I declare that I am free from any physical defects or illness which might prohibit or inhibit my participation in this competition. Once again, I acknowledge my full understanding that martial arts is a contact sport which may result in injury to myself, or my child, for which I am covered only by my own medical health insurance. I understand that there is only first-aid available at this tournament.

I understand that rings will be divided by age and rank for forms, weapons, and tai chi. Sparring will be divided by age, rank, and biological gender. AMA is abiding by the world athletic standards set by the Olympic and World Committees.

I understand that I will be required to wear full AMA approved gear in order to compete in sparring: helmet, face mask, mouthpiece, gloves, foot protection (and groin protection for males).

I understand that although instructors are trained and certified to judge rings in the Aplomb Martial Arts Tournament, instructors are human and might call or not call a point that the competitor or their family/friends, spectators think should be called/not called. I also understand that judging is subjective and will refrain from coming to the judges, instructors, volunteers, staff, or AMA with demands for rescoring.

Once registration forms are submitted there are no refunds. I understand that if I miss my competition times, there will be no make-ups or refunds.

I acknowledge that the AMA Tournament is designed to be a positive and supportive environment and culture that is welcoming to all individuals. Furthermore, I agree to keep my cheering and comments at the event, dojo, and all social media postings positive, encouraging, and supportive.

I release forever and hold harmless the organizers of this tournament, AMA, its owners, investors, instructors, volunteers, officials, or any other individual or entity associated with this tournament or AMA, from any claim by me, my family, my estate, my heirs, my personal representatives, or their assigns, arising out of my participating and being a contestant in this tournament.

I further state that I am of lawful age and legally competent to sign this agreement, and that my signing this agreement is my own free act (or the free act of signing by parent or legal guardian). I also understand and agree that the terms herein are contractual.

I have read, understood, and fully informed myself of the contents of this agreement. I assume my own responsibility, physical condition, and capability to perform under the conditions of a martial arts tournament.
